Staller.

Google's dictionary DID, in fact, inform me that "staller" is not a word. While I was not surprised, I am somewhat disappointed. What would one call someone who is ridiculously good at the art of stalling? Well, I'm calling said person a staller. That's all there is to it.

Random Summer

Technically speaking, we still have a full month left until fall. However. School starts TODAY. (Those who know me well know that this makes me SOOOO HAPPY!) Therefore, Summer ends yesterday, Fall starts today. I had some pictures from this summer that didn't really have an occasion or blog title of their own, thus the RANDOM. :)

R has this thing with football. I guess it's normal for boys, but I had no idea it was SO consuming. R reads football magazines, watches football shows, listens to football radio, and TALKS about football as much as possible. His favorite player is...

School

That's right - school started for the big kids today. Q will be starting preschool this year as well, but that doesn't start for a couple more weeks. I'm so excited!

Dam.

I'm a little bit sorry, but probably not as sorry as I should be. I honestly just couldn't resist. Friday was our only full day in southern Utah / Nevada and we decided to drive to the Hoover Dam. It was super cool to see and we had a good time. I do have one complaint. It was SO FLIPPIN' HOT. Too hot. Our next trip to Hoover Dam will be in January.

St. George

We spent the late morning of our drive home in St. George. We stopped at the temple first. Not only is it pretty neat that the St. George Temple is the oldest temple in operation, it is also SO pretty. I love the palm trees all over the temple grounds.

Getting away...

A couple weeks ago my dad decided it was time for us to get out of town. He gave us thirty-six hours notice and we we headed out...

Swimming

I'm not sure why it is, but there is something especially cool about swimming at the hotel. Most likely it's the fact that you've been cramped in the car all day and not only is the pool a place to exercise and have fun, but it's also NOT the hotel room - which seems to be super-boring if you're a kid. :) When Dad asked us to head south with him, my plans were grand. Drive down, let the kids swim as much as possible, read A LOT, and just hang out. I'm aiming for a lot, I know. Guess what, we still managed to achieve it. We're so good...

Holy Monster of a Dance Recital Post!

The entire month of June was somewhat overtaken by rehearsals - with two girls and a Daddy / daughter dance. They all worked super hard and I'm super proud! The day before the recital was the dress rehearsal. I decided to try my hand at makeup and experiment with some hair styles. This is what I came up with...

Swimming Lessons

he kids had swimming lessons again this year. Unfortunately I did not take pictures again. :) Luckily Jen took a few. This year the kids worked on bettering their form and also learned how to dive. It was pretty fun to watch them learn.

In Memorium

Last week we lost a member of our family. After living for 2 1/2 years, R found Swimmiey weak and swimming his last swims last Monday morning. It was the thing I feared, I hate seeing my kiddos sad, but we're happy Swimmiey lived for as long as he did.

Nine!

S turned nine an entire week ago. I can't believe he's getting so old! It's a good thing that doesn't mean that I'm getting old too. I'm perpetually 27. :)

To celebrate his special day we had family over for cake & ice cream. We also grilled hot dogs & hamburgers. Andrew's grilled hot dogs? So yummy...

Holy Macanoli!

Some of you may have missed my eighties reference. If you did, read up on Punky Brewster. She, along with Rainbow Brite, was my hero during the eighties...

A few pictures from R's camera...

I recently took all of the pictures from R's camera. He had a few that I thought were cute.

Summer Storm

This summer has been unusually stormy and I have loved every second of it. We have had real rain showers that hit the windows and actually cause puddles. We've even had thunder a few times. Yay. One of the best things about storms? The skies that come with them...
