Pacific

Before last weekend, I had never seen the Pacific Ocean. I had been swimming in The Atlantic Ocean, and have been to the shore in New Jersey; but The Pacific was a whole new thing for me. I didn't pack my swimming suit, so I just wore my shortest pair of capris. The plan was to just stick my feet in the ocean and do some seashell hunting. The plan failed, but it was a super-fun day...

Yes we are THAT good.

Jen & I noticed that ice from her parents' fridge tasted funny, so we set out to change the filter. It wasn't just a "pull the filter out, stick a new one in" filter. It was an in-line filter, meaning we had to disassemble the old filter, then assemble and install the new one. We were super proud when we finished and not only did the water line to the ice work, but the water started coming out of the water spout too (it had stopped working because the filter was too clogged)...

Coming Home...

While hanging out with Jen & her family was a ton of fun, it was great to come home. Not only is home where my family is - and I missed them dearly, but my amazing family had weeded the flower beds, cleaned the carpets, cleaned the kitchen floors (yay!), and baked me cupcakes - which were set out to spell "mom" with a heart above. I love my family.

Owl City with Daddy

S really really loves Owl City, so when he found out they were coming, he asked if he could go. (Then he asked again. And again...) Andrew and I decided that we would buy a couple tickets and take S for part of his birthday present. S was SO excited...

Big Girl Hair

Q has become quite particular about her hair at bedtime. She either likes to have it dried (with the blow dryer) or pulled up somehow. The other night I decided to try indian braids. I think they looked pretty cute, and Q thought she was pretty hot stuff with her "big girl hair"...

Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben!

Ben Folds came to see us again this summer. Pam was here to go with us (yes, completely intentional) and we had a great time. I can't wait until next time...

S's Sticks

S has a thing with sticks. I don't know why I was surprised when I found this picture from 2004. Apparently the stick thing started before we even noticed...

Daddy Day (aka MOMMY day)

Katie and I have a to-do list about three miles long. We have I Spy bags to finish, a backpack to repair, a quilt to cut and assemble, the list goes on and on...

Rah, Rah, Sis Boom Bah!

A came home with a flier from school announcing that the city would be offering a cheer camp for elementary school aged girls. It wasn't even something we had to consider - we knew A would love it. It was also a very minimal time-sucker. We love activities like that...

Baby Birdies

This year Mama Robin returned. I'm not sure if it's the same one, but R likes to think it is, so it is. :) She laid a set of eggs and they hatched. R checked on them constantly, before they hatched and after. After they hatched Mama Robin became very protective, and wouldn't let R get close without yelling at him. I love this...
