Man doing backstroke ahead...

One evening while driving home from Jen's house I noticed that the pedestrian sign was askew. It was pretty funny to me, especially considering the lake in the background...

Duck Pond (Or a highly industrialized area that happens to have ponds where ducks live)

We happen to live in a beautiful place. I constantly look around and find myself in awe and feeling completely blessed to live here. One thing we don't have near us is any sort of duck pond. It's possible we're just not local enough and are merely unaware of the cool duck hangouts. As it stands, we drive to feed the ducks. It's not even a super pretty place. There are ducks. That's all that we ask at this point...

My Baby Can Read!

Well, not really. I have heard that program works, but we have not tried it in our home. :) Q does really love to read books though. Her very favorite is one that she and Grandma have read together (and discussed in-depth, of course) several times. It's called "No, David!" and was written by David Shannon. Mr. Shannon has been a favorite in our home for many years, so I'm guessing "No, David!" will be the first of many books Q loves by this author.

H of A

The fifth graders at R's school (and a ton of other schools) participate in a concert every May. I have to admit, going into this concert I expected super-cheesiness. I didn't expect to really be moved. It was honestly a really cool concert...

Fishing with the scouts

Even though R left his Webelos group in February, they asked him to come with them on a fishing expedition. R had a great time, caught fish, helped clean the fish, then went over to our neighbor's house to eat the fish. He was on cloud nine and has been asking to go again.

Playing

So, I know that Ikea really isn't meant to play, but nobody has ever denied that it's a super-fun place to go. After finding my bookshelf on KSL to organize my craft room closet, I knew I needed to go to Ikea for some good organization within that shelf. Darwin was with me for homework help, and somehow Jasmine & Brittany ended up with us too. R had a dentist appointment later in the day, so he was with us, as well as Q. There were six of us and we had a grand time...

Q's Recital

Because two of the big kids had recitals, Q decided she should put on a performance as well. Of course she played "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie", just like A. This all came about one afternoon as I was working on my laptop. One minute she was playing the piano, the next she had brought in the step stool and was announcing herself. Her rotation was to announce, play piano from the stool, then move to the bench for the grand finale. Pretty cute...
